Cool - I'd rather mill raw almonds with the skin on and have brown flecked pastry than use blanched ones.  Easier and maybe healthier as surely some of the nutritents of almonds are in the skin.  :)
Thanks

Thank you!!!!!!
Does anyone know if it is fine to use normal almonds rather than blanched ones?

Thank you all.

Or date scones.  Thanks.  I searched the forum but this is the recipe that comes up most for scones, so anyone done them for cheese and bacon or date scones?
Thanks. :)

12 pages!  I was wondering if anyone has used this recipe as a base for cheese and bacon scones or if the recipe should change for that????
Thanks.

Recipe Book Recipe Reviews / Almond pastry from Everyday Cooking ...

I am just trying to get organised before delivery of my thermy (may have to think up a cool name) next week.  I want to make the fruity pear mince tarts ASAP.  I am buying the Festive Cookbook; will be delivered at same time, but I found the tart recipe online so I can make sure I have the ingredients on hand.

It refers to Almond pastry from Everyday Cooking and I can't find this recipe online.  I am wondering if someone could either write the recipe out or even just the list of ingredients, so I can be prepped and ready to go when thermy arrives.

Thanks!

Thanks everyone.  And yes, Auckland's weather is quite stormy at moment.  I am slightly more north of North Shore of Auckland and there have been a few tornados there over the years.  Yesterday's was West Auckland (maybe 30-40kms) from where we are - Auckland's not 'that' big.  3 people dead when a concrete wall at a new school build site collapsed on their truck.  :(  Massive damage to houses in 1 particular part of a new subdivision as the tornado weaved through it - and smaller damages in more outlying areas from the main path.  Plus regular wind and flood damage from the flash floods from the heavy rain in short time frame.  All happened really quickly - as tornados are prone to do.

Things like that give you pause to think.  Hope everyone is enjoying their day and living with purpose and gratitude - I guess.

And thanks for the warm welcome and I am busy looking up recipes and making plans!

My consultant said it might come before 10 days, will ring early next week once they know for sure and suggested we do a delivery demo so I can get a thermoserver.  So she's up for it - hope between us we can find a time that suits that week.

Introduce Yourself / Re: Hi; from Auckland NZ

Ended up being just me and my hubby and my kids at my demo today - the others could not make it in the end. I am so glad we went ahead with it.  It was awesome and even hubby was more impressed than he expected to be.

I think it is a matter of WHEN not IF we get one.  On holiday in a few weeks, so will think about it and not rush into it, but looking forward to thinking it through and hopefully saying 'yes'.

Cheers,
Gendi

Introduce Yourself / Hi; from Auckland NZ

Hi, my name is Gendi and I live in Auckland, NZ.  I am having a demo on Sunday 29th July and I am so excited to see the TM in action.  I am hoping my husband will love it enough to say 'yes' to getting on.  Thinking about becoming a consultant too, but that is a separate decision, I think, after deciding about personal use.  At least it might be for me.

I have done a round of Cyndi O'Meara's 4 phase fat elimination protocol (www.changinghabits.com.au) and that introduced me to Thermomix.

Looking forward to browsing the forum and hopefully being able to contribute after getting a TM myself!
