Introduce Yourself / Re: Hi from Anne in Perth

I'm not on Weight Watchers but have reduced carbs and eliminated sugar. The Thermomix is working well for me - I use the meat  fish, stir fry, salad, egg & soup recipies++; I also reduce the amount of oil/butter I cook with. My food is simple and I make use of the sauces in small quantities. I live alone which means I freeze a lot or gift food to my family.  Focus on what you can eat, rather than trying to fiddle with what you can't. Enjoy!

Thank you all so much for the lovely warm welcome.  Yes, I guess the key for me is to stay clear of anything with sugar and minimize wheat. Sounds draconian - but I love all the stuff I am left with. Protein ++, vegies, cold weather fruit (dark berries, apples etc), yoghurt, Parmesan or feta, milk and limited butter & cream.  I'm not very creative as cooking has never been a big thing for me. BUT anything is possible. Once I get used to using the Thermomix I will try a little experimenting but for now there are so many wonderful recipe's to try.  I will get my grandkids to cook some of the biscuit/muffin recipes and they can eat them and take home what's left. It helps I don't have a huge sense of smell so don't get seduced by the odors wafting through the place.  Love cooking and preparing food with the thermomix and I've turned into a Jamie Oliver type cook... have all those little containers with all the ingredients before I start. I learn't THAT the hard way lol  Bon-appetite`!  :)

Introduce Yourself / Loving my new Thermomix

My name is Susan and I have been using the Thermomix now for a few weeks. I am single but find that the quantities cooked aren't overwhelming and I am enjoying all the recipes that I have tried so far. I have been on weight loss journey for a year and wondered how it would work for my basically high protein, low fat, minimum carb, zero sugar diet. It works a treat!!  I have been indulging in fare like beef stroganoff, chili con carne, steamed fish/chicken and vegies. I love making my own butter; I keep a little for myself and gift the remainder to friends and family. Butter is on the diet but I don't have a very good 'off switch' with butter. The soups are a dream and the good news is my weight loss gently continues.  :)
