Hi all!! I am new to posting, but have been following for a while as I painstakingly mulled over whether to purchase a thermomixer. My gentleman and I moved in together and in leaving my housemates behind I found myself sans a food processor, a blender, a slow cooker ... so I bit the bullet and have bought the magical wonder that is my bimby (boy says I really shouldn't call it that since he likes to think of it as a super rough and tough science cooker, but whateves) and I am thrilled. I have a slight amount of guilt ... but that's mainly mitigated by how completely and utterly in awe I am of all the things I can do now!
I eat a peculiar diet - I would say I am a combination of about 80% primal/raw and the other 20% is cooked. I am gluten, corn, and soy free and about 95% lactose free. I think this machine is going to open me up for some serious fun with making my own flours, nut butters, veggie purees, green drinks, and some amazingly flavorful Indian and Thai meals. I have every intention of making breads and cookies and cakes so I am interested in all kinds of foods - with an admittedly selfish eye on the raw/lactose and gluten free variety
Right now I have 2 jobs (researcher at ABC and care coordinator at a physician's office) and I work about 65 hours a week. So I am thrilled to be able to purchase the thermomix ... I just have to find the time to use it!!
I am looking to compile recipes right now and would love all y'all's guidance. I'm in Brooklyn and didn't have the benefit of a demonstration and I really don't have a "consultant" so I'd love your help!
