Suet replacement ???

Hiya everyone, we are making a very traditional English meal here tomorrow of Steak Puddings ! In the UK they are sold in fish and chip shops (but they have kidney in them and there's no way I'm making them with that yuck !) They are very rarely made in our family and everyone's flocking to my house tomorrow night ! Basically you make a suet pastry and then you make a steak filing and then you make them up in miniature pudding tins and then steam them (we're doing them in the pressure cooker).  Here's a link to a recipe and picture if anyone's interested.

'The recipe calls for suet and the only suet you can buy here is a mix of dehydrated suet and flour. I'm really not keen on using the animal based suet.   In the UK they sell a vegetable based suet replacement but that isn't available here. 
Does anyone have any ideas on what would be a suitable replacement ? Would copha grated work maybe ?
What do you think ?  This has to succeed lol or we'll be very hungry lol !!

I quite like suet pastry as I think it's flavour is unique. Perhaps you could try the copha.
May all dairy items in your fridge be of questionable vintage.

Hiya Cookie,
The reason I'm saying maybe copha is I have used copha to make cornish pasties. I like the taste of suet pastry before I knew what it was but I can't get that thought out of my head ! Just not real sure and don't want a failure after all the effort lol 

Also, do you remember I told you I would get the recipe for Clootie Dumpling ? My mother in law just makes it on the fly after having made it so many times BUT I do have a recipe now. If you send me your email address I will scan and send it to you.  We made it in the pressure cooker the other day ! DH said taste is right but we did have a few problems with cooking time which we have sorted for next time though.
