Yeasted Scones - Recipe anyone?

I know that I saw a recipe for these recently, but cannot for the life of me think where!

I want to make scones like Dome Cafe has. They're deliciously light and very high rise, so much so that I suspect they must have yeast in them.

Does anyone know of a recipe that would make scones like that?

I don't like scones very much, I find them doughy. I've made a million different recipes and they're still doughy to me. Plus, they're only nice on the day you make them. I know I can freeze them, but I'd rather make scones that keep for a couple of days instead.

I've done a search on google, but can't find anything.

MJ, Cooks.com have some recipes for scones using yeast if you can follow their ingredient list. 

I found this recipe but unfortunately she doesn't give the quantities of any of the ingredients listed.

This one uses baking powder so I wonder if that would make a difference.

You might have to come up with a recipe yourself MJ.  I know what you mean about scones being a bit doughy so I would love to try a yeast version too.

JD, I saw the cooks.com one.

I've since found a great article on scone making.

I've copied Rachel Allen's recipe and will be trying that. Interesting that Dan Lepard says Italian 00 flour is best for scones.

I just wish I could remember where in the hell I saw that recipe!

It was an interesting read MJ.  I've printed out the BBC Good Food recipe to do next time I want a batch of scones. Will be interested to hear your feedback on the Rachel Allen one - love that lass!
