Your kids have good taste Wonder. My DH and I love potatoes cooked in duck fat.
Usually I only ever use it at Xmas, as a treat.

kids are both out tonight so i'm going to give these a try with the chilli for DH and me. i didnt have any new potatoes so just using what we have and hoping for the best. i'll reduce the salt and duck fat as i think it's a bit much for our tastes.
i figure we don't use much of the duck fat so may as well enjoy it in the few dishes we like.

I reduced the salt when I made them, but agree you could reduce the duck fat also.
You and your family eat so healthily Wonder, you can certainly afford a little duck fat now and then. Everything in moderation.

I made these last night. As you know my DH loves his spuds and this recipe didn't disappoint him,he and DS love them. I was a bit heavy handed with the Chilli flakes, nearly an oops moment.
but they didn't think it was too spicy.I used Goose Fat that's readily available here in our supermarkets.

I've made these about 5 or 6 times now and we love them. Best potato recipe I have!
I took the advice of the earlier posts and did not smash for long. I have found 2 secs speed 5 to be perfect!
Thanks for a family favourite recipe Alyce 😛

Loved the flavour of these. Used macadamia oil, old potatoes and half the salt. Mine didn't crisp up much. Probably should have cooked for longer, but with loud hungry mouths, we just couldn't wait. Will make again as they are good.

I've got some macadamia oil Kimmy so I might give them a go with that rather than more duck fat. Thanks.
