Hi there are no downsides to a thermomix, just buy one while its still on interest free at the moment.

You will use it, and as my Dear Husband  says,  (right behind me) you will wonder why you didn't buy one before.
Sandra, you will love it, and will be cooking up a storm in no time. ;D

PS, welcome to the forum.

Robyn :)
My Thermomix,  Kitchen Aid, Pizza oven, Nu Wave 5 in 1, Spatulas, all brings love, laughter, happiness, and great food  to my kitchen.

Hello everyone,

I'm Sandra and I live in Brisbane with my husband and two young primary-school aged kids! (how cold is it in Bris today!!)

I've been lurking on this forum since going to my first TMX demo in Feb. I've since been to another demo and have had a couple of my friends and sister buy a machine, meanwhile I'm still sitting on the fence!! I do love everything I've seen of it but I guess my main thoughts are that I already have every other kitchen appliance and do I really need to spend $2000 on another one? I love to cook and I know that I will use it, but I also need to know that it will be worth it. So I'm wondering, why to you love your Thermomix? And there must be something you don't like about it ... Would love to hear your thoughts.

Cheers :)

Can we swap where we live? I am in Victoria, its about 14 degrees here today!!!  Sandra I um'ed and ah'ed about making the purchase after watching a family member with hers for 2 years- do it you won't regret it!!!

I was so RAPT with the 12 minute bechamel sauce the other day that I didn't have to stir once! TMX is worth its weight in gold. I know I will not regret the purchase! :)

Craftymum I was like you before I purchased, and googled "Thermomix cons/negatives" etc and could hardly find anything. Any negative comments I found were from people that didn't actually own one (so not objective IMO), or not as easy to clean as the consultant makes it look. I found that for my first 3-4 uses, and then had the hang of it, and definitely find it very quick and easy to clean now.
I agree with everyone else's positive comments, also it can save you heaps of $ if you want it to. I didn't really believe my consultant when she said that, but it is true, and with two small children whilst working part time, the amount of time I save on a weeknight during that witching hour is worth its weight in gold!

I am so jealous CraftyMum.

I haven't managed to get to a demonstration yet!  I feel like the orphan watching the happy family through the window!

Enjoy your TMX when it arrives and post to tell us all about it.

What do you have planned for the first cooking session?

Lynn

I've just watched an amazing video on making yoghurt and turning that into 'yoghurt cheese balls' - would love to try that! Otherwise risotto, soup, bread ... Anything!!!

Hope you get to a demo soon Lynn :)

Yes, CraftyMum,

My demo is booked for Saturday 30 June - the first one I could get within 30 miles.  The TMX doesn't seem to be as well known or popular in the UK as it is elsewhere.  I think that is changing though.

Of all my friends, I have only discovered one with a TMX and she says she has had it so long, it should be in a Thermomix museum!  LOL.

Enjoy your TMX and I hope to join you soon with the lean mean cooking machine!  I can't wait.

Lynn
