I'm not so much reviewing the recipe as my resulting baked cake. I didn't get to the frying stage as mine was a flop. I just prepared the decoration and mixture into the only loaf tin I had but it was obviously too big. I guess it doesn't pay to make substitutions when you are trying a new recipe as with no chickpeas in the house to mill up, I made the flour with dried peas. I do not recommend this to others, as the cake didn't rise. It smelled good in the TMX and I was excited by the general idea of the dish, but my oven supervision skills were lacking and it's back to the drawing boards for me.
No pic - I ate a bit myself, but did not serve it.
I don't want to give up and I would love to read if anyone else has tried this how they got on.
