Time adjustment
« on: May 29, 2009, 07:32:04 am »
Could anyone tell me how to fix the time that is in the user info at the top of the page? At the moment it is telling me that it is May 29  2009 06:29:10 am  and it is actually May 29 2009 03:27:10  I have lost a few hours somewhere. So can anyone help?  Thanks Sandy

Go to Profile (under the Search Button above, then to "Look and Layout Preferences" - then to "Time Offset" and you can put in how many hours ahead of GMT you are, OR.... Hit the Auto-detect button to the right and it should give you the correct time (except if you are in SA/NT)

I wish you luck Intrepidtrier, I had a hell of a time trying to get mine right.  In fact, never did - I'm 1/2 hour out but near enough is good enough as far as I'm concerned and I am from S.A. ;D ;D ;D

Great Sandy.  Sorry JD - I've tried many times, but still can't work that half-hour bit.  :(

Strange - did you click on the Change Preferences button at the bottom after changing the time? - might need to get Admin to check it out.

Hi Sandy - it looks like the right time is being displayed on your posts?  It says Today at 02:22:11 PM for the last post.

Where are the same times being shown?

All the times on the first forum page are displaying the time that I changed it too the other day which was the 30 May. That is every one that has ever been posted!!! I changed the time on the profile on the second line which had real strange figures on it so I probably have buggered it up somehow. I was wondering if I restore my computer to before I mucked around with it would it go back to what it was before????

Hi Sandy - that may be the problem - just cut and paste the following into that box and see what happens

%B %d, %Y, %I:%M:%S %p

then hit the Auto-adjust button again.
