I have just taken this out of the spring form tin to take this photo before it set too solidly (and have a piece at the same time) but it needs a couple more hours in the freezer.  As you can see Cookie, some of my maltesers and sponge fingers floated to the top.  I can understand why ES's didn't - fruchocs are so much heavier than maltesers but why did my sponge fingers also float  ???  Not that it will make any difference, the piece I had was lovely.

Were they really soaked with the orange syrup Judy?  I have never had that happen. I leave mine for quite some time and turn the bits of sponge finger over in the syrup.

Probably not long enough Cookie and I don't think I churned the ice-cream long enough either.  If it was thicker it might have been heavy enough to hold the biscuits etc down.  Just impatient and always in a hurry to get things made  :-))  Mind you, it doesn't really matter, it is lovely.
