Help with Strawberry jam Please
« on: January 19, 2013, 07:05:14 am »
Hi i have made some strawberry jam today and the first batch is runny, the second batch is better as I used a different recipe.  Just wondering if anybody knows if I can reheat the first batch and add some more Jam set ta to it to thicken it up, or any other way.
Cheers

I would put.it back in to cook some more, don't know about jam setter probably wouldn't hurt. Sterilize your jars again, keep a close eye on it it might get to thick.
I child-proofed my house, but they still get in!

I would put the first batch back in the TM bowl and cook it on Varoma to thicken it up.  Test it as you go though remembering it sets more when it gets cool. 10 minutes may do the trick.

Others may have other tips Bronnie.

another 10 minutes on varoma temp, will work.
