Basic Pannacotta
« on: February 15, 2013, 12:50:09 pm »
The only recipes I have for this pudding make about 8 or 10 portions.
I would love to be able to test a recipe before giving it to friends to eat, so I'd only want to make about half the recipe. I'm sure there is someone clever enough to advise me about timings if I do this. I hasten to add that I have never made this dessert before so don't really know what to expect. If the worst comes to the worst, I will make the whole thing, but I hate waste and, even more, if it's good it will put a couple of inches on my already expanding waistline. Thanks so much.

There is a general guide for doubling or having given quantities in a recipe .When DOUBLING a recipe add another 20% to the processing or cooking time.To HALVE a recipe cut processing or cooking time by 20%.
There is a Freezing List that Uni has created and tested here and she has successfully frozen Panna Cotta. ;)
Hopefully Uni can answer your question more fully when she logs on as I have never made the Panna Cotta dessert before. :)

Thankyou sooooooooooooooooo much Cornish Cream. You are such a helpful, knowledgeable person. I shall make myself a big note of your reply and report back when I've made my first panna cotta. Thanks again.
Could you just check that link to the Freezing List, please? This one seems to take me to a Philadelphia cheese article.
