Pedon ten minute grains
« on: March 23, 2013, 08:35:31 am »
Hi has anyone used pedon ten minute grain? Bought yesterday.

Photos attached and instructions/ ingredients.
I wonder if then can be added to bread and if so should I just soak or cook?

Thanks very much.

NOT in Aussie land DJ but we have similar.  I would cover with water,  bring to the boil,  boil for a couple of minutes and let cool in water and strain well.   The bread you are trying to make will need seeds as well as the grains,  I would cook these with the grain.

Thanks so much chookie  ;D

Am waiting to get some vit c powder before trying this bread. I don't usually use it but DH needs are more important than my ideals!

DJ it looks as though you are about to have some great fun baking breads.
May all dairy items in your fridge be of questionable vintage.

Well I have tried both of these new ideas now in salads and can thoroughly recommend as they are accepted by DH! Amazing.
Cooked half a cup of 5 grain for 12 mins and adapted the brown rice salad recipe.

Today cooked the bulgar and quinoa and made a salad with grapes, cashews, cucumber, pepper and pineapple. Just a little of each using the same soy sauce, lemon and olive oil dressing. Two hits with DH.

Don't know think these grains will get into bread, maybe the bulgar and quinoa.
The next salad will be giant wholegrain cous cous.
