Josie Pinto's Osso Bucco

Made this today with a couple of changes to replicate the recipe I generally use.
Added carrot and celery to the sauce ingredients (chopped with the onion and garlic) and omitted the herbs in the sauce as I had put enough in the marinade.  Cooked 1 hour then rested the meat and sauce in the thermosaver whilst I made mashed potatoes and steamed carrots and spinach.

DH says it is not as nice as mine which is usually cooked in the slow cooker or oven and I was just wondering if it was the herbs which prompted this comment as I don't use any herbs in my recipe.  My sauce is a much deeper, richer colour whereas this one was still very tomatoey looking. Josie's picture looks like a brown sauce so don't know why mine was still very red. Had 600mls of the tomato sauce left over so will freeze it and add to mince for a lasagne later.

Ease of making 4.5/5
Taste 4/5

Thanks Judy. Looks like a nice warming dish.

I made this a couple of days ago, and it was my first attempt of making something I would usually cook in my slow cooker, in the TMX. Both DH and myself noticed how much better the sauce tasted without the fattiness of the meat sitting in it when cooking, and also when I pulled out the leftovers from the fridge the next day, there wasn't a film of hard fat sitting on top :D  We loved it, and so did our kids. My DS2 was calling it 'echo echo' ;D

Oh what a pity, the Osso Bucco recipe has disappeared from this link.  Boo hoo.

Josie Pinto has obviously moved on - pity her recipes can't stay behind in links. It's in the MOTM recipe book though.
I've removed the link seeing as it isn't working.

Thanks, JD, but I didn't have the recipe book here tonight.  The OB will just have to wait.
