Mashed Potato - 2013 EDC Page 93
« on: September 24, 2013, 12:20:03 am »
Made this yesterday to the recipe, turned out just perfect.  :D :D :D
Perfect consistency, much better than the original EDC recipe. :)
Used it for the topping on the shepherd's pie (same book) and the rest in sandwiches with shredded chicken, a bit of gravy and cheese for DH to toast at work.
Yum!

Thanks for the review astarra, nice to see a book winner reviewing recipes from their prize.

So, cleaning the bowl after grating the parmesan and cooking the potatoes on a lower heat makes all the difference?  I always found the bowl's bottom was too hard to clean after the original method and now I see why that probably happened.  I swapped over to the basket method instead but I will have to try this now myself.

Yeah, the bowl was so easy to clean after, I must admit I was pleasantly surprised!  :)
I think the old EDC was 2cm cubes, this one says 3-4cm cubes which probably helps it be 'mash' rather than 'soup'  :)
