Review Lemon Chicken with crispy potatoes CFM&Y pge 47
« on: February 23, 2014, 03:01:05 am »
Not sure if I would do this one again, the skin had a lemony taste but the marinade didn't permeate the meat as much as I would have liked.  I really couldn't see the reasoning behind par-steaming in the varoma dish then grilling (I used the air fryer) and think I would just roast the pieces after marinating.

Your meal looks tasty Judy. Very colourful.

We enjoyed this meal, but will simplify the cooking next time. Using the grill in my oven made it messy and time consuming. I had to keep rolling the veggies and chicken  over constantly. I will use a hot oven, it might take a couple more minutes, but it can cook by itself.

Also I made a gravy with the stock after the veggies had cooked and were in the  thermoserve. I added a couple of frozen herb blocks and a corn flour slurry and cooked for 3 mins, speed 1 on 100 degrees. I liked the method of cooking veggies in the basket, simple for the two of us. I will use the varoma and steam the chicken and potato, next time. Mainly because I liked the potatoes par steamed - they were nice and crunchy.  :D

Very tasty.
