Citrus Fruit...
« on: June 09, 2014, 02:44:18 am »
Hello ladies .....

I have lots of citrus fruits at the moment ..... I have mandos, oranges, and tangelos..... I am looking for some recipe suggestions on how to use them up ......

they don't have to be thermo ....

and I would like to do some sort of roast ...... as I have never cooked a roast with citrus .... but I was thinking maybe something to go with pork or chicken .....

Any ideas would be great ......cheers Sammi
as long as you keep eating my pancakes .....i will stand here and keep flippin them out filled with nothing but love in my heart 'cause you chose my table to sit at =)P

Hello, it is so lovely to hear from you. :D  May I ask how the weight loss is going?

I love Sue purrb's whole orange cake.

Well I've roasted chicken with lemon and garlic inside the carcass and lemon wedges, garlic, potatoes and rosemary sprigs in the roasting tin.
The flavour is strong but good. I guess you could substitute for oranges, it would be sweeter.

There are good orange cakes on here using the whole fruit too in the cake thread.
And mango desserts in the dessert  thread.

Hope this helps

Hi,  Sammi,   long time no posting from you. hope all is well.

I am in hosp at the moment, hope your weight loss is going well. :)  Cairns

don't forget to juice, and freeze citrus you don't use.

"lemon chicken" with lemon wedges, and a sauce with the roast juices would be nice.
tangelos  would be nice with pork

Orange, red onion and feta salad.
Citrus jam with Grand Mariner.
Save the peel and make candy peel.
Citrus jam with grated carrot.
Hope this helps.

Sammidog, you can always google

Recipes using oranges (or whatever fruit you have)

and you will find heaps of recipes.  If you want to use the Thermomix, just add the word Thermomix to your search.
