I make this often DJ and use arborio which takes longer than basmati to cook and never had any problems with it.  I wonder why it wouldn't cook for you  ??? ???

Followed Brons instructions 100% apart from using basmati rice. Cooked to perfection, will just re-heat later. It tastes lovely :)

Has anyone tried this using brown rice?  I know it would take longer to cook.

Next time I need rice I'll try it and see how it goes.  Will report back in case anyone else is interested.  :)

Yes I did, I was sure of that.
It was only a couple of minutes in a pan with more water and then it was fine. The supper was not a good one as DH didn't like the turkey leftovers....

I finished the left over rice last night, the others all had pizza!

I made this to accompany Chookie's Spicy Coriander Chicken for dinner this evening.
Used Tenina's Confit Garlic (Purée) and Garlic oil in the recipe.Worked really well and tasted delicious.
