Hi from Sydney Australia

Hi.
I love my thermomix, had it for a while, but only really cooked the basics out of the everyday cookbook.
I've been asked to make a dessert for a family meal on Sunday. My selection is Apple & Raspberry shortcake with crumble.
My problem is that I have never owned a food processor. The recipe calls processing flour, caster sugar & butter until it resembles breadcrumbs.
On what speed and how long does that take in the thermi?
And after that, adding in the egg & milk until it comes together?
Any help/suggestions would be warmly welcomed.
Thank you
Ingrid

Hi Ingrid, welcome to the forum 😃
I would put the flour butter and sugar in the bowl, set the dial to closed lid and the hit the turbo button about 3-4 times. Each pulse shoud last 1-2 secs.
Then add the egg and milk and combine speed 5-6 for about 7 secs should do it. Better to go less, stop the machine and have a look at your dough and decide if you need another couple of seconds.
Good luck!

Hello Ingrid, welcome to the forum. Snappy has given you the information you wanted, I was going to suggest you look at Isi's recipe
here
. If you read the members' comments after the recipe, you will see where it has been suggested to cook the crumble twice - it seems to produce a real wow factor to crumble by the sounds of it.

Thanks so much, Snappy & Judydawn, for the welcome. Much appreciated. :-)
I go to the Thermomix cooking demos, get inspired, then work happens. I live on my own, work for myself, so cooking for myself doesn't always come high on the agenda.
A bit more confidence in Thermi cooking techniques is what I need.
Thanks again!
