I made this today, yummooo
only used 400g water and used sultantas and currants. I did need to cook it longer, and turn the oven down so it didn't burn, so nxt time will start at a lower temp.

Bump.
My lo seems to like raisin toast at day care, so was browsing through these old recipes and came across this.
Lovely reviews from everyone and Julie, your loaf looks beautiful in the photos.
Would like to give this a go, fingers crossed

I had never made this so I decided I needed to. It is very nice. I used about 460ml of water but could have cut it down a little more. I wasn't watching and the loaf caught on the top a bit, but it is delicious, especially toasted.

I made a loaf of this today. It took a lot longer to rise than the recipe said, but then again it is a very cold day here. The loaf is lovely and soft and tastes really nice.
Unfortunately I managed to flatten the top when I turned it upsisde down in the tin and put it back in the oven for a few minutes
