TM31 - Dial not turning

My TM31 dial won't turn, all other functions eg. heating, scales, turbo, kneading are still working but I can't turn the dial past closed lid.  Has this happened to anyone else?  Unfortunately my warranty has expired,  I'm in Perth and have been quoted $66per hr plus parts to have it looked at, am wondering if anyone might know a cheaper alternative?

Have you got 2 bowls for your Thermomix TSleat, if so try the other one. Not sure why but this was something people used to suggest for the TM31.

Is your bowl on correctly, with the lid on properly? If this happens to me I just give the lid a little push to make it click on better ( to the left) and then the dial turns freely.

Like Cookie I sometimes have to push my lid a little to the left to make it click.  Once that is done everything is fine.

This happens to me occasionally as well, I do what everyone else has suggested you do and all should be well.
