Recipe Review - Chicken Jalfrezi Meat on the Menu page 97
« on: August 19, 2011, 04:54:14 am »
We really enjoyed this meal.  I only did half quantity which would serve 3 in this house so the full recipe would serve between 4 - 6.

I used chicken thighs, breasts would be far too dry unless cooked for a shorter period of time and I would add a teaspoon of cornflour to the yoghurt before adding it next time to stop it splitting.  Other than that, it was very nice.  Quite mild and suitable for children, add red chillies if you want a bit more heat.  I found it needed some salt too.

There is no review on the forum of this recipe but I did find one on this blog.

Hally was the first one off the mark CC with her review. These challenges are easy to rise to, benefit us all and make us read our recipe books a little more.  I didn't intend doing anything until next week but I couldn't help myself after spending an evening with my books  :)

We had this tonight. Everyone really enjoyed it and we will certainly make it again. Neither of our boys enjoy too much spice so we halved the quanties of spices and increased the yogurt to 200g, although we did use some crushed red chillies in place of the green. We had no broad beans or capsicum so added green beans, carrots and kidney beans. I think it would also be good with some sultanas added or a bit of palm sugar or coconut. DH thought it could do with some sweetness too.
