T-5 until my Thermomix arrives!
« on: January 30, 2010, 12:21:01 pm »
Hi everyone!

I'm in Brisbane and hosted a demo on Thursday night.  Hubby decided to join us and was so impressed he gave me the green light to order one there and then!  :D  The demonstrator had him hooked at the chocolate custard point, I think.

It should be here on Friday and I can't wait (although I have a bit of nervous excitement about it, seeing as it's such a formidable machine).

I'm very chuffed to have scraped in at the end of January while the extra thermoserver offer is still on.

Looking forward to immersing myself in this forum, although I may be too busy eating to post all that much  ;)

Hi bellesy welcome to the forum.  It works everytime - have your DH at a demo and you will end up with a TMX.  I guess getting them there is the hardest thing but so much easier if the demo is in your own home. I was scared stiff of mine when I took delivery but it is just second nature using it now. You will get a lot of use out of your thermoserver - they are very handy indeed.  Please do get back to us and let us know how you are getting on with your TMX and what you have been cooking - everyone is interested hearing from newcomers.  Afterall, we were all newcomers once.

Hi and welcome Bellesy. Great effort getting to order your TMX at the demo. Check out the forum and you can decide on some of the things you plan to cook.

:D Guys have to see it for themselves. Have fun when it arrives, you may be fighting him off!
A great cook is one who can rustle up a fabulous family meal with some freezer burnt chops, wilted carrots, sprouting potatoes and cabbage that's gone brown on the cut edges.

Thanks, everyone for the warm welcome.

I think you're right!  I told him there'd be a full rundown on how to use it when it arrives and he said he wants to be there for that so he can get started!

Yep - have to get hubby involved in the use of it too.  ;) Welcome! - look forward to hearing what you've made. I was just in Brisbane on weekend having a 'girls weekend' - Stayed at Ridges and went to see Angelina Ballerina, amongst other things -  :D ;)

It's here!  I love it!  And the nerves are starting to dissipate now I've made something (vege stock, and a beautiful pumpkin & feta risotto, a recipe from this forum).

As I type, the ad down the right hand side of my brower is a big Lose Weight! advertisement.  I guess they know we're all cooking up a storm with our Thermomixes  ;)  I do hope to cook healthy things, but there are an awful lot of yummy 'sometimes foods' I want to try, too.

I'm glad I'm not the only person who sees that ad glaring at them. :'(
