Review? Chef Laurent

Does anybody have the recipe book by Chef Laurent? Chef Laurent Caters for Cooking for Kids and Chef Laurent Caters for Familes?

Do these books have a lot of Thermomix recipes in them?  If you have these books would you recommend them?

terstoo has a post under chit chat (I've missed visiting) where she talks about the caters for kids one.

Ali you just go to the thread (in another window) and then copy and paste the http/web address thingy at the top of the screen onto the reply you are writing. Clear as mud  ;)

I don't know how to copy and paste or whatever so I do it the hard way.  I find the thread I want then write down the link (which is on the second line from the top of the page for those who don't understand & I imagine there aren't too many of you out there) onto a piece of paper, go back to the thread where I want to put it, click on the blue thing that looks like a helmet (which means insert hyperlink) then type the link in.  Sometimes takes a while but I get there.  I can hear you all laughing at me  ;D ;D ;D

Yay, someone who understands where I am coming from.  And to think I actually pointed you in the right direction when you first started Chookie, what a laugh. The blind leading the blind.  Bit by bit though we are getting there and I guess it doesn't matter how you go about it, as long as you succeed in the end.  Your friend could show you the proper way though. Another thing I do is once I have typed in the link I click on preview before I post it.  You can then click on the link yourself in the review to make sure it works - some of them are very long and you only need to get a dot or something wrong and it will not work. Have a go though Chookie.  :-*

Oh you gals! So much faster to highlight with mouse. Right click on mouse - press COPY then go back to your post and right click mouse again and press PASTE. Done!!  :P But anyway that works for you I suppose. I just think you are so great for having a go! My MIL just closes her ears (and mind) and says 'I can't' and misses out on so much. :-* :-*

I have written all that down Nay-nay and will try it next time I need to put in a link. It does sound easy but we will wait and see.  You will know when I have done my first successful one - I will be screaming from the rooftop.

I actually brought this book awhile back as I thought it would be good for making things for my Granddaughters.  Well my daughter was here when it arrived and I haven't seen it since!!!!!  I keep asking for it back but she tells me she hasn't finished with it yet!!!!  The quick look that I did have (all of 5 mins) was good.  It has lots of things in it for school lunches, snacks ect.

Have to confess, I've only cooked one thing so far, which was nice.

Most of the "Main" lunch box recipes (Fried rice, casseroles, noodles, stirfries, pastries, salads) need to be hot, so suit canteens, but not lunchboxes.  Generally would probably suit older primary and up, not pre-prep where I'm starting out.

Lovely book with some nice recipes to make and have at home.  Pretty good value for approx $25 I think.

I just counted up 21 recipes altogether including dressings, brioche rolls, and the majority being "sweet delights". Couple of things I have made out of it such as the Beef Burgundy Pie - the mixture was so runny and 40g of cornflour had to be added as per the recipe (which is more than I have ever used in a dish). When I was mixing it up in the cup with the water it was hardening up like plaster mix!

Then just last week I made up the Chilli Con Carne and added a chilli and a long skinny thing from the garden (paprika?) to give the otherwise bland mix a bit of zing. Have made a couple of things from the Finger Food section, and they were a hit at a party. Its a simple, basic book which has been set out very clearly. I think the ideas are there, and you just build on the recipe if its not to your taste.
