CarlioneJ, I managed to get one for DD (and thankfully it hasn't cost me anything except the batteries). It's super cute and DD loves to play to with it.
The down side is that unless it's for mixing milk or a yoghurt it's pretty much useless. When DD wants to put some plastic fruit in there I remove the blades so they don't get jammed that way the "motor" can run freely.
It has the safety features like the lid must be locked into position before the blades will turn and depending on the age of your child/ren can be a little frustrating for them getting the correct sequence of events to make it go. But in saying that it's probably good training those things early before they use the big one. DD is 3 1/2 so she's just starting to work it out now.
I remember soon after DD got hers and I'd just dished up dinner she had "cook" her dinner before eating it. So we popped a few veggies back in the varoma for a minute and then she was happy.
For the value in what it does - it is WAYYY over priced. But it's a bit of a wow factor for them and they get a huge kick in having just like Mum or Dad.... hope that helps??
