I only tried making tahini once and couldn't get it smooth enough. I bought it on special today for $4.19 for a 425gm jar at Coles.
That will last me for at least 4 months.

I had bag of sesame seeds in the pantry but no tahini so the concept worked for me. I added extra olive oil to get the consistency I was after. I'm not sure how often I'll want it for a recipe so don't stock it generally. I'll need to top up my seeds now!
The biscuits were a lovely variation.

Good Thermesa, the home ground ones would be good in these. Glad you liked them.

I've got these in the oven now. I don't think I mixed the tahini through the oil enough so the mixture was extremely stiff. Just tasting the rw mixture there is no way my DS will eat them but hoping others will. My scoop is very small so I got 44 biscuits, so I will probably eat them as a small snack with my coffee. Lots of great ingredients so happy to eat one every now and then.

Marina, I overcooked mine a little I think but they are still OK to eat. DS got up while I was out walking and thought they were anzacs, had one bite and it went straight in the bin
I think they taste quite nice.

I'm really enjoying these. Mine are very crunchy and I think I had an excess of sesame seeds over sunflower seeds so they taste quite a bit like the sesame fingers. DH took a few to work today so will be interesting to see what he thinks, not sure if he knows they aren't anzacs, I didn't mention it this morning

I made these with the last of the tahini in the fridge and they are really yummy (especially the raw dough) I don't have an icecream scoup, so I rolled teaspoon sized balls between my palms. It was a long and tedious process as the mixture was so sticky. Next time I might just press them into a slice tin and bake! I'm not sure what I did, but I ended up with about 60 biscuits. My biscuit jar was full last night, but it's not now........

Hmm made these today.Didn't turnout like Chookie's or Sue's photo at all.
I must have been too generous with the golden syrup as mine were dark and spread
They tasted good

I made these today. I got 30 using a medium ice cream scoop and they were just the right size. I took the trouble to use an egg ring to shape the circles on some of them to see if it really made any difference. Took longer to do but the ones I did shape kept the perfect circles. This is showing just 1 of the shaped ones.
Lovely biscuits Chookie, DH will be set for his return to work tomorrow.
