Afternoon Tea ideas
« on: July 18, 2010, 05:18:42 am »
Hi everyone,

I am new here and just received my TMX on Friday  :)  I am hosting a party plan party on Saturday and would love some quick and easy ideas to whip up!  I will do some Lemon Butter or Jam for scones but don't really know what to try from there.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Hi Stacye, welcome to the forum.  Good for you, getting stuck straight into it.  Best of luck for Saturday, I'm sure your guests will be impressed with your spread.  My suggestions as are under, others will come up with their favourites too.

http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=1223.0  These are great - Trudy's orange muffins

http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=29.0 This carrot cake of Brazens can be made in advance, iced and frozen - it is so moist.

You should do a couple of dips to serve with crackers and vegie pieces  and we have some great dips on the forum and in the recipe books.  You are obviously doing a batch of scones, they always go down well and with your home made topping, even more impressive.

We've just had 2 afternoons of guests for DH's 60th. We had scones with a couple of types of jam with cream, capsicum and sun dried tomato dip with crackers and crudites, biscuits -2 types, apple and date brownies and of course birthday cake.
Good luck with it.

DH says thank you Jan and Judy. Yes he received some nice gifts, he was pleased with them. We're going out with our Monkey Mia crew tonight to celebrate again.
I had fun making the food in the TMX, but now we have too many leftovers. Mr Freezer is happy. We ended up having Judy's soup and farfallina's little rolls for dinner last night, we were so full.

Welcome Stacey - wander through the cakes & bread sections for some ideas.  Scrolls and those types may be handy.

The cob loaf with dip is usually a winner.
