Steaming while making mash?

Hello,

Can I steam my fish in the Verhoma while I am making my mash pots in the Thermomix? I have only steamed veg, and I haven't done two things at once yet.

Put your potato cubes (or rice) in the steaming basket and vegies in the bowl whilst steaming the fish Belle. If your fish is only thin, you may have to start the vegies in advance and just add the tray with the fish on it towards the end of cooking time.

Thanks Judy, should of checked this again before I started cooking!! I put the potatoes in with the milk etc and put the steamer on the top with the veg and fish on top of that but the potatoes were cooked before the veggies and fish!! Oh well will adjust for next time but the mash potato is soooooo good!!!

You will work it out Belle, each time you make something you will think of a better way next time.  I never cook my potatoes in the bowl with milk, always in the steaming basket with boiling water below.  I found it burnt the bottom of the bowl with milk and I hate having to do extra cleaning work!  Do you have a thermosaver for keeping food hot if one part of the meal cooks before the other?  They are great for that.

Ahhhh mine burnt at the bottom too!! So you add the milk and butter at the end and then blitz? Will try that next time.
