Introducing Me!
« on: September 10, 2010, 10:54:04 am »
Hi Everyone!

I'm xBeanyx and I've had my TMX for a week and I don’t know how I lived without it!!!

I went out last weekend to stock up on new herbs and flour and containers and everything and then went cooking crazy and made lots of food which was a bit silly because its only me at the moment and I've managed to run out of containers and freezer space! (oops)

Its been fun cooking, I've made Bean Pasta, Chilli con Carne, pizza dough (my friends and i had fun making our own pizza's for our movie night!), two separate lots of brioche dough (it was so much fun making it into plaits!) and home made butter (taste's so yummy!), all within the first four days!!!

A work friend also has a TMX and she and I are rostered to provide morning tea in November... we've already started thinking about everything we can cook up and I plan on experimenting between now and then (after I buy some more containers for the freezer this weekend!)

Cant wait for the weekend so I can play with the TMX some more!!!  ;D

Hi xBeanyx, welcome to the forum.  You sure are going to have a lot of food in your fridge if you do full recipes  ??? I'd be doing 1/2 quantities unless you have visitors otherwise you will only have to cook twice a week at the most.  Didn't take you long to run out of freezer space - that's the biggest problem with having a TMX, we can all make more food than we can eat unless you have a houseful of teenagers.  Anyway, have fun and I'm sure you will receive lots of compliments at your morning tea gig.

oh welcome, xbx its always so nice to hear that someone is just having a hoot and I know what you mean about 'stocking up' on containers and food ;D  my DS friends think i have a tupperware addiction but you need all the basic stuff now with a TM, and its very hard to go away on a weekend without taking the (TM and) whole pantry with you. make sure you invite some people over to eat up all your creations as cooking up a storm is always fun in the TM. and let us know of any conversions you make are a hit with your friends ok?

Welcome to the forum xBeanyx.  I believe we all did the same. My neighbours stopped answering their doors when I first got mine!

Welcome xBeanyx. I know how you feel with filling up the freezer.
I think it's time we had an eat out the freezer week.

Thank everyone!

I’m having so much fun! I decided to make more Brioche yesterday and did a plain Brioche batch and a choc chip Brioche batch  :) needless to say I ended up with 26 Brioche braids that will now be coming to work with me tomorrow for morning tea (oops).  I did mean to make more than last time (last time I made 9) but somehow instead of the 18 I was expecting I ended up with 26…  :-[ but they’re so addictive! Especially with homemade butter yum yum!

I’ve tried to halve some of the recipes but there’s still a lot of food so I’ve given up and just started freezing more and more of it. I’ve had to sacrifice two tubs of ice cream but they weren’t all that nice so it wasn’t too bad of a sacrifice and now I have more room yay!  ;D

Glad you are enjoying your TMX. Maybe a few dinner parties need to happen at your house?
