We have my fil staying this weekend.  A man less familiar with the kitchen I've yet to meet but even he asked me WHAT is that?

we made up for it today, i woke up this morning and realised we had no bread for toast, and a very small selection of cereal, and we had the in-laws staying!! aaaargh! so we whipped up some bread, sort of! they were adapted from the basic bread recipe, but added sultanas, apple, walnuts allspice etc. they tasted yummy but were a cross between fruit bread and scones, everybody loved them though, were quite a good breakfast item.
then we served burgers (processed in tm) with the beetroot salad.
i went out this afternoon, for some rare time off from the kids, and dh had made icecream with the kids (i could tell from the pink stains on their t-shirts) and returned home to find a very stressed dh vacuuming up sand that the toddlers had tipped into the playroom! and them in time out in bedrooms!
we have just spent the evening doing a menu plan for the week, and after getting several ideas i said to dh "we dont have to do every item in the machine" and he pretended not to hear that comment! glad he is as enthusiastic about it as i am. ;D
the answer is chocolate, who cares what the question is!

Had a demo last night with my very sceptic neighbors as guests.... There was stunned silence and then much oohing and aging and one bought one on the spot! I have been nominated to cater Xmas block party! Only disappointment was that the consultant didn't make butter, do any of u make it and do u have any tips given my newbie skills and knowledge

That's great about your demo, joynatalie!!!  Butter is really easy - just use pure cream (not thickened), up to 900g at a time, whip it with the butterfly on sp 4 until it separates and starts to bump around (stay nearby) - then strain and squeeze off the buttermilk (use in baking), cover the butter with cold water and re-whip for a few seconds, tip water off, repeat, then add a bit of olive oil/other oil and a pinch of salt if you like and whip it for a few more seconds.  That's it!  :)
