Nik, I agree with you with the icecream. It's not that much cheaper if at all. But as you say no nasty chemicals and no paying for air.

Thanks for all that advice ladies, i will prove hime wrong. You may have read my story in chit chat when i made garlicky bread plait and took to the neighbours, it was a hit, now to make a hit at home. I like the idea of already having the oven on and cooking a few goodies at the same time too. I can see now i need to try a few more of your recipes and find the one that suits our family best. It's a hard job, but someone has to do it.
PS: I LOVE this forum........thankyou!! Jenny

When was the last time we went to the shops to buy only bread? I really can’t remember.

My DH makes a joke that it cost $50.00 for a loaf of bread. I bake my bread daily so no need to go to the shops very day for fresh bread

ciao
i don't need a recipe i'm italian

I was super duper lucky and went to chookawomans house to learn how to make bread. It was wonderful and my bread making skills have improved greatly so I use her recipes for bread.

 :-* :-* :-* :-* to Chookie.
After receiving my consultants (Kathryn) last newsletter, which I love, I have put  my name down to do a sourdough class. It's on 18th January and I'm really looking forward to it.  I did a semester of breadmaking many years ago but that didn't involve sourdough. It's hands on and we do 4 different types.

Is that a TMX sourdough making class or just a course at TAFE or somewhere Cookie.  Good on you wanting to expand your repertoire.

It is a local lady, who does travel round Aussie.

I'm doing the beginners course but would like to do all the others too. DH has been getting orders for parts for the old car from USA so I don't mind splurging on some bread classes.

Pandateddy,   thanks for the feed back.  I was wondering how you were all going.   Give me a ring if you need any help. ;D
Cookie you will learn a lot from Yoke  Mardewi.  She has developed a special ,  very practical way of making sour dough bread.  I have her book and it is well worth having if you are going to make sour dough.  Let us all know how you go.

Thanks Chookie. I will probably buy her book when I'm there and enrol for some more classes. I have tried to do sourdough a couple of times a couple of years ago, but it wasn't really all that successful. Tasted ok but could have been better.
