I make mine in my slow cooker and let it cook all day. Use the TMX to chop up all my veg though

I made pea & ham soup in the slow cooker over the weekend - then I was able to make more & freeze some for later.

DH usually makes pea and ham here but he does it by throwing everything he can find+split peas+ham bone into the largest pot we have. It's always lovely too. We need it today, it's freezing again.............and rainy and windy. I don't mind the rain and cold just terrified of the wind. A small port does help though.

was just about to make the EDC recipe today, but stopped because I did my research on the forum first
found a special piece of ham in the meat section at Coles of about 300g+ and it was bee-u-ti-full. A whole Thermoservo full disappeared in like minutes along with frozzies
French Baguettes
. We can't stop licking our lips and patting our tummies. Thank you TMXR for a lovely soup 5/5

This reminds me that I have the remains of a leg of ham in the freezer that a neighbour (who doesn't make soup) gave me in January. Guess I should use it up before she gives me next years.

Hi Guys,
I made the recipe out of the EDC and found that it tasted chalky/uncooked. I like the idea of the peas being whizzed dry and cooked up, but I really think that they do need to be soaked overnight first. I have bought some ham pieces and hope to do up another batch this week....hopefully it turns out
Cheers,
Renae.
