Steaming Veggies & cooking mash

I was just wondering if I can cook potatos to make mash & steam other veggies at the same time. Will that work??

Yep. I cook the potatoes in the basket, water in the bowl for steaming and then put the vegies in the varoma for the last however amount of time you want (we like our vegies crispy so only do 5-8 mins) making sure you are on varoma temp.
Remove varoma, empty bowl and mash the potatoes with milk, butter etc.

That's what I do too...then mash it with the butterfly.  Makes dinnertime so much easier  :)

Yes I use Nico's entertaining recipe for mash and steam veg at the same time works a treat :)

I do what Zan said too but our vegies get steamed longer as DH doesn't like crunchy.

It is in the little blue booklet you can buy called Entertaining with Nico it is $5 and you have the potatoes cooking in the bowl with water and the butterfly and you can have the varoma on top, at least that is what I do. Then when the potatoes break down and the veg are steamed you just add butter and whip them up and voilą :)
