we got our dishwasher when I refused to also do the dishes on top of everything else so that was DHs job lol...Well he lasted a week before going out and buying one!! Now I do the dishwasher anyway so dont know how that ended up happening!!

My house was the original farmers cottage, built in the 40's.....so spacious it is not, and I already lost 2 precious cupboards to fit in my big oven!.....losing more cupboards for a dishwasher gives me palpitations!  :P

maddy, I resisted getting one for years - always said I didn't need it but when we put a new kitchen in where we are now, my DD2 and her DH wanted to buy me one so in the end I let them.  Now I wouldn't be without it, if it carks it I'll be almost as fast as Faffa in getting it replaced.  It is great too when you have visitors, they don't feel obligated to offer to get the dishes done before they leave - I wish some of them had one as well so that it worked both ways  :-)) :-))
