Hi Gamma, welcome to the forum.  You sound like me when I first got my TMX and my computer but hey, I am going great guns these days. There are others out there like that too (won't name names but you know who you are  :-* :-*).  I'm sure you will find something to start off with and before you know it you will be cooking up a storm like the rest of us.  Have you been to a demo or a cooking class to get some idea of how this machine works?

Hi Judy,
Thanks for that, I feel a bit better. So excited about my new purchase can't wait to
go to a cooking class. Im booked in to the next one here, Im in Adelaide to. I've been
to a demo, that's what blew me away. I was full of ideas then and now I'm a bit daunted.
I'll get there. I think I might start with the recipes from the demo at least I've seen that
done, I may then get over my nerves.

welcome gamma - what do you mean - have you got your TM and you have been overwhelmed or too busy, or is it being delivered tomorrow?

Hi and welcome gamma. The nervousness is something lots of us experienced. Just get in there and give it a go. We are all here to help you along the way. Just drop in and ask with your queries and tell us about your cooking experiences. I'll look forward to it.

Hi again, Sorry CreamPuff63, in answer to your question.
I had just received my machine and had been too nervious to try
something. I also didn't think I had time to play. Boy was I wrong.
It takes no time to make something. I JUST LOVE IT!!! It really is saving me time.
Got a loaf of bread in right now. Hope it turns out well.
Thankyou all of you for your warm welcome.

Thanks Judy, I'm a little worried though, my bread has been in the oven for almost 20 mins
now and it's looking a bit dark on top. I have suspected that my oven temp is not right for
a while. I will have to get an oven thermometer and check it out.

Well I just made Butter Chicken and rice. I am so impressed, the rice turned out better than
it ever did in my rice cooker, I guess my daughter will be happy. She will get the rice cooker.
Yum !!! It's all really nice, hubby will be pleased. ;D
By the way my bread turned out nicely, a little darker than I would have liked because of my
oven but tastes great.
I used Isi's Portuguese roll recipe but did it as a loaf like JulieO did. Thankyou both sooo much.
I guess I'm well on my way now.
I love this forum. :-*

Hi Gamma and welcome to the forum.

I also have trouble with uneven temperatures in my oven and it drives me nuts - my first couple of loaves of bread were pretty dark.  It would be an interesting experiment to check temperatures with a thermometer.  I have a slightly older fan forced oven which we inherited with our home.  I always thought fan forced ovens were meant to heat evenly - but not mine!!!  I checked the temperature one day and found huge variances in temperature just on one tray in different areas (at least that served to prove to me that I wasn't imagining things).  I now constantly move and turn anything I am making in the oven and accept that at least 1/3 of whatever comes out will be slightly burnt to one degree or another.

Hi welcome to the forum and congratulations on your bread success.  I've found breadmaking with the TMX almost fool proof.  I've also found a local supplier of fresh yeast and found it keeps in the fridge for way longer than I previously thought.

I'm also the not so proud owner of an oven that runs hot and uneven!  Its also a fan oven and I turn the heat down to compensate but I've noticed that one side cooks quicker than the other!   :(
