HELP!!! - Cream in TN recipes
« on: March 19, 2011, 01:13:50 am »
I have been having the worst luck possible - as per my choc mousse attempt - with using cream in my recipes.  I am just in the middle of the ice cream slice in EDC, which I have made previously, but this time and the last time I tried it, the cream is going really runny.  It is not whipping up at all.  Even though the cream has come straight from the fridge I am finding the bowl is getting too hot.  Even when I crushed the crunchie bars this morning they were stuck and beginning to melt on the bottom of the bowl after 7 secs.  HAS SOMETHING HORRIBLE HAPPENED TO MY TM!!!!   ???

Sounds as though something is amiss demak. I've made that ice cream slice many, many times and it's worked perfectly. Does the bowl get warm no matter what you do in it?

Yes the bowl is getting warm - as per the crushed crunchies beginning to melt after 7 secs.  I have made the slice once before and it was perfect, but the bowl seems to be heating up more than I remember.  I am going out to try the german cheesecake, so will see what happens there.  I have made this one twice before and have had no trouble so will see.

I just put a smallish amount of tap water in mine and ran it for 2 mins speed 6 and there was no change in the water temp at all. Maybe your TMX needs to see the Dr.  :( Worth a call to HO or your consultant

Yep - I have just blitzed some lemon rind - 7 secs and the TM had gone from 0 - 100 degrees.

Don't use it anymore until you have it checked out demak - is it still under warranty?

Sorry to hear about your poor TM. Flipper had the same problem in January and it was the power board in the base that needed to be replaced. I'd get onto your consultant asap so it can be fixed up soon. Look under the Questions technical issues under "help with overheating" and check out the comments there. Good luck

Thanks for all your advice everyone.  I will call them first thing Monday and hopefully it can be fixed ASAP.  Good to know that it wasn't me, I was really beginning to worry.
