The converted rice is BROWN rice that has been partially cooked and dehydrated, so cooking times for white rice/arborio would be about the same in this dish, maybe a bit less ?  May need to add some extra stock/water - check after 20 mins and see.

Sounds like a lot less would have been better?

I think I would check the rice after 15 minutes if using all white rice, but definitely not leave it in longer than 20 minutes??  :)

I think you are supposed to lay them on top.  I normally do sliced capsicum, carrot and some beans in the tray above though.  :)

yum! the meatballs were a hit! the rice (white) was a touch overcooked as didnt reduce the cooking time, and ds said he would have preferred plain rice, so next time i will leave out the beef cube. maybe some vege stock & tomato puree/ paste instead?did carrots & beans on the varoma top tray as my kids have something against cooked capsicum, and capsicumfor us on the meatballs.
great simple alternative to spag bol though

I'm going to try this recipe using vegetarian mince. It should work.

What is Beef bouillon? Is it beef stock?
I love all in one meals and will definitely be giving this one a go!
