Hi Mark,

I first saw the Thermomix at the Food and Drink show last November in London, as they were demonstrating it there.  When I got home to Canada I found at they had started selling them here, so ordered it and have been using it constantly.  Am back in London in November and hope they will be there again as I love watching it being demonstrated.  Welcome to the Forum and hope you like it as much as I do.  I guess you know the show is at the Olympiad, and I think it's a great show.

Hi Mark, well I had to pop in and say welcome (trying to catch up on unread posts) but had to laugh at your user name and how it is it for everything! Mine is the same and came from my brother when he was little and couldn't say Kathryn - now I use faffa for everything everywhere  ;D

Sorry me again just so say two weeks on and I wanted to post some thoughts, especially as it's my (**th !) birthday today and the TMX was a generous present from my wonderful wife.

I have Used the TMX most days made sortbet (several time) and wonderful bolognese sauce, I must learn also NOT to run the speed tooo fast as I tried to make a sausage casserole and ended up with soup !!

The EDC recipe says add water to Zabaglione ??  - dreadful mistake - I threw it away  - what a waste of Marsala !!

Last night unpacked the Varoma for the 1st time - made Holllandaise for the 1st time EVER (amazing) and steamed Cauliflower and alaskan salmon  - all was wonderful and no washing up - I made raspberry sorbet to finish as well !!

Going to try a Birthday cake today !!

Happy Birthday,Snorkychopper. I think your EDC is different to ours, so can't help with the zabaglione. I do love my machine, amazed I haven't worn it out and only had it about a month.

Happy **th birthday snorkychopper.  Don't be afraid to admit your age, we have some really old people on here - like me, 64!

Try this recipe from Thermomixer's blog for Baileys Zabaglione - no water in that one!

We have a member who hasn't been on here for some time now but Bron always used to say you can turn savoury disasters into soup and sweet disasters into icecream. Guess you have found out she was correct.

Happy birthday snorkychopper and a very belated welcome from another UK member.   I think I was melting in Sicily when you joined the forum...

I'm sorry you wasted all that masala.  Have you tried the zabaglione recipe from the UK cookbook?   From comments on here, I think the UK book is probably better than the EDC one as its recipes seem to get more positive reviews.

Good luck with the birthday cake - hope it's big enough for all the candles  ;D ;D ;D

Hi mark, Welcome to the Thermie clan. having lived in many of the southern counties during an earlier life, I am currently now in Robin Hood country. The one good thing about dull days is that the Thermomix lights up in the kitchen.  I have recently upgraded from a TM21 so I am having a great time with mine too.
