New Thermi owner
« on: August 04, 2011, 05:36:38 am »
Hi my name is Jan, I have had my Thermomix since early June and are travelling Far North Queensland with it in our off road caravan.
I live in Melbourne most of the year but travel to warmer climates in the winter.
The internet has been a great help in learning tips, tricks & new recipes.
Having health & dietary  issues the Thermomix make it so much easier to make meals, cake & breads that I am able to tolerate.
There is one recipe I am hoping someone can assist me with and that is a good wheat free dry biscuit recipe as I don't seem to be able to find one.

Cheers JanB

Welcome to the forum Jan.  I don't have a recipe for any gluten free crackers but here is a recipe for gluten-free plain flour that may help you.

GLUTEN-FREE PLAIN FLOUR/ SELF RAISING FLOUR
Mix together 1 cup rice flour, 1 cup potato flour and 1 cup soy flour and store in an airtight container.  To make your own SR flour add 1 & 1/2 tablespoons gluten-free baking powder to the above plain flour mix.  Sift all ingredients together and store in an airtight container.

Good luck
Trudy

Hi Trudy,
Thank you for the welcome and also the gluten free flour recipe, I will give it a try and let you know how the dry biscuits  turn out using gluten free flour.
Cheers JanB

Hi JanB, welcome to the forum. What a great life you have, the best of both worlds - following the warmth.
Good luck with finding the type of recipes that suit you on this forum - if not on here then on some of the blogs you will find mentioned on here from time to time.

Hi JB and welcome to the forum. Living in the caravan is sure to be a slight challenge but with the TM you will be finding it easier than a lot of your other non-TM buddies. Why not pop over and enter in the poll so we can keep track of where our members are from.
We have lots of delicious recipes here that our members have kindly posted - and here is my current list of favourites - we also look forward to hearing from you if you have any queries, comments or converted recipes of your own to offer.
