Thermie is off on a road trip ... any advice?

Have had my thermie for just over three weeks and love it to death!  RM is on the FAILSAFE diet and I could cry given the amount of time I save just cooking for him ... let alone the rest of the family! 

We are off on a road trip in our caravan this week ... Tassie to the Gold Coast.  Have bought the u-beaut carry bag and found a safe spot in the van during travel, so we should be set.  Anyone got any ideas or words of wisdom for our 3 week journey??

These aren't excactly the words of wisdom you are looking for, but hope they help - have a great trip and enjoy yourselves!!  There are loads of people on the forum who travel with their TMX's so I am sure you will hear from them soon as well.

As Marina said Daisy, there are plenty of travelling Thermomixes - many just can't leave home with it.  Sounds like it has been a great help to you so it is no surprise you are taking it with you. I'd suggest you pack some of your favourite recipes to take with you, all in one dinner meals would be the way to go and we have plenty in that section on the forum if they are suitable for your family's needs.  Enjoy your trip.

If you are short on space in the car it would probably help to prepare small bags of the whole foods you will need for meals and baking - rice, lentils etc.  That way you can keep it all in one container rather than taking lots of containers. Can't really think of any other travelling advice.  Have a great time!!!

Daisy you will find it wonderful to have your TMX with you. We have been 'on the road' in our caravan for nearly 5 weeks and the TMX is very helpful. I make mainly risottos, casseroles and all in one meals. I also use it lots for pasta dishes too. What I've done is look at the meals I want to make and then purchase what I need. As Chelsea mentioned you only need small containers of most things. I do have large containers of floour, basmati rice and arborio rice. I've been making our bread and biscuits but we are in Darwin at the moment and it is too hot to do that.

I suppose if you have a food vacume sealer you could prepare meals ahead, or make packs containing all the dry ingredients for a recipe. Most importantly remember its a holiday, so relax and have a wonderful break

Hi Daisy.  Guess your consultant already explained about securing the Thermomix in the car and packing it on its side, so as not to damage the scales.  If you have kept the original packaging the styrofoam and arrows on Vorwerk box will guide you.  Also, consider where you will be placing the TM when you stop to cook.  It needs to be on a strong, level, clean surface.  Enjoy!

Packing thermie on his side?  Not heard of that and neither has my consultant ... Have just rung her from our overnight stop in central nsw!  He is packed in the proper carry bag with the protection under the scales and securely in a cupboard in the van ....
