Hi Everyone from a Tmx owner in Brisbane :)
« on: September 08, 2011, 11:52:04 am »
Hi everyone,
Just wanted to introduce myself, my name is Davina and I have recently bought a Tmx to assist me in improving the quality of food my family eat. I joined this forum as I have been struggling with creating tasty dishes with it. I have tried some of  the recipes in Everydaycook book and find some of them tasteless and they just haven't worked. I thought if I started here I would find recipes that have been tried and proven to succeed. I baked a lemon drizzle cake last night and it worked yay ( after a very disastrous- almost the biggest baking disaster moment ever, (it was a marble cake recipe that flopped :( So now I face starting again, trying to figure how it works. I really think it comes back to my recipes. So I am here to learn and wow my family with fabulous food :) looking forward to meeting you and any tips will be greatly appreciated. Have a great night!

Hello again saffie00, thanks for popping over and introducing yourself so that we could learn just what your problems are.  I think I started off just like you did but that was a long time ago and now I'm up for anything.  Check out this list of favourite recipes from our lovely Cream Puff, many are my favourites too.  Now you have found us and our recipes, I'm sure you will be having many successes - the reviews and pictures really make it easy to choose something.  Have a browse, you will soon get to know us all and hopefully in time, you will be adding to our recipes yourself.  Good luck, enjoy.

Hi Davina, It is disappointing when you make a recipe that is a complete flop and we have all done it. But when you finally make something that tastes great and everyone enjoys it you get your confidence back.
When looking for recipes on here just read through the comments and you soon find the ones that are a real hit with alot of people.

Welcome to the forum and don't hesitate to ask any questions you might have as we are all here to help when we can.

Good luck and I am sure you will have lots of success with other recipes.

Welcome, saffie00.  Practise and persist.  I'm amazed how often I feel the first time I make a TM recipe it's not the best but if I try it again it can be yummo.  I think it takes a little while to become confident with the Thermomix but I love it to bits and I am sure you will too.  Imagine all the scrumptious things you can cook with Brisbane's fruit and veges - pineapple sorbet, banana custard ... hmmm I can't quite think of a choko recipe for TM off the top of my head, but you know what I mean.  If there's one out there, it will be mentioned here somewhere.  Enjoy!

Can't wait to read about your successes today saffie00 - hope you got to sleep OK last night.  I find if I think of food and what I am going to cook the next day when I'm in bed, I have a terribly time getting to sleep  ;) ;)
