Home made pasta for lasagna
« on: October 06, 2011, 07:41:52 am »
Hi all, I am trying my hand at making pasta for the first time today. I want to use it for lasagna. I suddenly realized I don't know if I can whack it in the lasagna raw, or do I have to cook it first?  :-))  If I need to pre cook..how?  So far out of my comfort zone!! :o

Wow, pasta is harder to roll by hand then I would have thought (or maybe it's my tiny rolling pin!).  Well it's all done and cooked, will be eating it later on in the week, so still don't know how it's gonna taste. Fingers crossed :) thanks for all the advice again :D

Well, the verdict was....YUM!  ;D
I will definitely need to get a pasta roller tho, as it was quite hard to roll by hand, and still a bit too thick. Very tasty tho, so much better than packet pasta :P

So you didn't end up cooking it did you Kell?  I have a pasta maker on it's way courtesy of a friend for my last birthday - the one you linked to fundj.

Hi JD, no cooking, just made sure the sauce still had a bit of juice still in it, and covered the pasta completly. I think it would be really easy to do once your new pasta maker arrives  ;D
