Not Quite So Disgruntled Now
« on: December 18, 2011, 10:44:05 am »
G'day All,

My wife and I are from Lancefield in Victoria and had our new Thermomix delivered yesterday. Bloody fantastic.

We've made:

Hummus
Ice Cream
Butter
Vegetable Stock
Garam Masala
Butter Chicken
Wholemeal Spelt Bread
Chllli Con Carne

Just loving it.

DD

I bet you aren't :D  It is well worth the wait isn't it?  Hi disgruntleddog, welcome to the forum and thanks for letting us know what you've made so far. With the holiday season approaching, I can imagine how much you are going to do in the coming weeks.  Have fun.

Welcome DD and Mrs DD,  I've had my Thermomix for five months and i still marvel at it everyday, today I made some Old Bay seasoning ready to make some KFC coating,  ice-cream, (which unfortunately is a little grainy I decided to put in the extra cream left over  and over beat-ed it ) and the everyday juice and have you tried poached eggs . I love this forum everyday there are so many tempting recipes to try.

A big hello from NSw to you Mr & Mrs DD.

It seems that you have given your thermomix a good workout since its arrival.

Have fun cooking

Welcome Mr and Mrs DD. Who gets to use the Thermomix the most? ;)

Thanks for the welcome everyone.

Both Ms DD and I cook. Being a bit more of gadget kind of guy, I've been using it the most.

Going to make some more bread tonight. Don't really need to cook for a couple of days as we've got plenty of leftovers. Had the chilli with bread rolls today at work. Yum.

Welcome to the forum DD. Good to see you enjoying your new toy.

For bread, try Isi's Everyday Bread. It's a great recipe.
A great cook is one who can rustle up a fabulous family meal with some freezer burnt chops, wilted carrots, sprouting potatoes and cabbage that's gone brown on the cut edges.

Thanks for the bread link. Looks yum.

I tried the spelt bread recipe in the basics book and it was good but I used wholemeal flour and I think it needed a little more kneading. Quite tasty but texture was a little scone like.

Have fun, welcome to the forum.
You will just love it, and cook as much as you can all the time.

Try Quirky Jo's blog for bread too.
