All honour to the bread makers.

A friend sent me this card.  It is from Kiev, about 1970.  Thought bread makers might be interested.Think the translation is as stated.
All honour to the Bread Makers.  That is most members on this site. ;D ;D ;D

Such a gorgeous card and saying.
I love making bread. This forum and my Thermo Thingo have me trying recipes I would never have attempted before.

But it immediately made me think of the Monty Python 'Life of Brian' quote.

I should print that photo off and see if ma in law can read it. She is originally from the Ukraine, but only a small village. Sadly she didn't get to go to school beyond about year 2. We don't realise how lucky we are.

OMG what a gorgeous little card.

Thank you all who have helped me improve my bread making skills. Before I joined this forum, I had NEVER made bread before and now I am a breadmaking addict  ;)

I love bread and I love making my own.  It is a wonderful skill that unfortunately in today's quick fix world to few people still practice.

DW and I don't eat much bread (she only eats it when it is same day fresh) so I don't make it enough. I am hoping to build a backyard wood fired pizza oven this year.  Then I will have to make more bread even if i give it away.

Lucky you.   You could try the Fridge bread,  where you make a lot of dough and keep it in the fridge and just remove the bit you want to cook.

Is there a particular recipe for Fridge Bread and how long can you keep dough in the fridge?
