Doubling the cake mixture

Well..my thermomix FINALLY arrived this morning! It must have been dispatched the afternoon HO closed for Christmas. Soo excited. Have been out most of the day but did manage to squeeze in making 2 different types of juices, strawberry foam and the veggie stock. It's my DD's 10th birthday today so also want to make the chocolate cake from the EDC book but would like to double the recipe. Does anyone know whether this will work? Do I have to make 2 separate batches? Double the cooking time? Thanks again.

I haven't made the EDC Chocolate cake but this recipe is superb and many people have had success with it including me ;)

Thanks Cornish. I'll try that one next time. I did end up making 2 separate batches and cake is in the oven now. Do you have a good chocolate icing/frosting recipe to go with the cake?

How about EDC Ganache page 160 or this but using cocoa.I make a very good Chocolate Fudge Cake here and the frosting is superb but don't let it get cold in the bowl as it goes hard quickly :P

Thanks again. I think I'll go for the ganache as I have a lovely French cake pan and I want everyone to see the pattern of it. Also, the frosting recipe looks yummy but due to the large amount of butter in the cake I think I'll stick to one without more butter. I will definitely try ILB version with the frosting next time. Maybe for the kids in my class when it's my birthday in a few weeks.
