Review Beef Bourguignon Pge 18 Clevercook eBook
« on: January 25, 2013, 04:10:42 am »
Browsed through a friend's copy and decided I wanted to do this recipe.  I used a bulk pack of round steak which had been sliced quite thinly (1cm slices) so I cut it into 5cm pieces and cooked it for an hour. I used Tenina's garlic paste instead of fresh garlic and I didn't have enough mushrooms so just threw in what I did have and I must say, this is a very tasty recipe.  I made it this morning and let it sit for a few hours to let the flavours meld. The recipe would serve 4 people. It is such a simple recipe.

Normally I would serve something like this with mashed potato but I had the gratin dish half made yesterday so wanted to finish that off today.

The picture in the eBook is the same as that on the blog but the recipes are slightly different. Here's the blog recipe called Beef in red wine.

Yummo! Looks nice and rich too. So a good balance of flavours by the sounds if it - I must give it a try  :)

Really enjoyed it CP, have frozen the leftovers and might use it for pies.
