COYO coconut yoghurt
« on: March 10, 2013, 08:14:29 am »
I have just bought 2 ridiculously expensive tubs of this ($12/400g  :o :o ) and must admit it is nice...but after a couple of spoonfuls I am over it, so not too sure what to do with it now.
My Mum loves it, so was wondering if anyone had attempted to make it in the TM? I may give it a try tomorrow.

Oh please let me know how you go with making it!

I have heard that it is AMAZING!!!! But when I saw it at the health food shop recently, I just could not afford to spend that much on yogurt!

Let us know if you can replicate it! Would love to try it! :)

Green living Australia sell a starter for making coconut yoghurt, there recipe says to use pure pectin as well and honey.
I child-proofed my house, but they still get in!

I tried this and its ok at first but i found the coconut taste too rich for me so went back to my overly expensive sheeps yoghurt..i guess if you made it yourself you could amend it to suit.. Coyo are also making icecream.. Saw it the other day in a health food shop.. They were promoting it :)

I'm afraid I hadn't heard of it.
May all dairy items in your fridge be of questionable vintage.

Neither have I Cookie, and since it doesn't sound good for the waistline or wallet I think I'll steer clear ;)

I would love to know how you get on making it Nikkit.

We are dairy free and gluten free here, so Coyo has been a real treat - the plain Coyo is an excellent cream substitute. I use it for cooking too - such as in Sue Shepherd's Famous Chocolate Cake which is in the Gluten Free Wheat Free Cook book - my go to recipe for birthday cakes these days.  :)
