Onion jam recipe

Can someone help me out. I am looking for a good onion jam recipe, not involving currants. I have seen some recipe mentioned, i guess from a book that i dont have in belgium.

tnx to both of you..  can i use something else instead of the soy sauce, i can  not use it because my food allergy

What do you normally use as a replacement for soy sauce  Stef?  I wonder if reduced balsamic vinegar would do the job? I'd do the reduction so that it is a richly flavoured syrup and just replace the soy sauce quantity with it. You can buy it already reduced and thick but there are plenty of recipes on the internet to be able to do it yourself.

good idea judy .. i always make my reduction of balsamic myself, can not buy the processed stuff..  but since the whole thing has to cook down i will go for a splash of balsamic vinegar

Is there a recipe for onion jam that has sultanas in it?  Just wonder what the difference is with that and Odette's without the sultanas?
