German yeast cake
« on: May 08, 2012, 11:04:31 am »
Does anyone have a recipe for German yeast cake?  I have memories as a child of visiting my grandma (who was German), who always had a huge slab of this for us, straight from the oven, whenever we went to stay on the farm with her.  My mother is visiting me later this week, and was hoping to make some for her, in memory of grandma.

Hi Karen, how's things?  I couldn't find anything for the TMX (not even on the German website) but I'm sure someone out there will have a recipe for you.  If not, here's one to convert - it would seem a simple thing to do.

Thanks Judy and Uni,
No - the kitchen renovations STILL are not finished  >:(  , although we up to having the kitchen cupboards installed, waiting on benchtops etc ....
Have not had much time to post (or even cook!) lately because have been busy with work and kids.  DH is the main user of the TMX in our house at the moment.
