Maddy have you done the double swirl on yours or just a single? also your edges look more "fluttery" if that makes sense, is it the same tip as you use for the rose by swirling from in the inside out or have i got my numbers confused? I'm not sure which one I have now
The fist picture of cookies & cream cupcake pic is using the
Wilton 2D star tip. I know what you mean, it does give a more feathered edge.
I also use that on for squiggling on randomly, like this one
another idea is with your wrist twisted, so your knuckles are facing 9 O'clock, squeeze icing whilst turning your wrist back to the 12 o'clock mark...you get this effect, simple and flower like.
2D is great for squeezing out large stars like I did on Tenina's Chocolate coconut pie
The
1M tip is what I use for the roses and swirls.
